Getting ready for Halloween/ Подготовка к Хэллоуину

After seeing houses and yards around the city decorated with pumpkins, skeletons, witches and tons of scary  stuff it's not surprising that I made a witch. No flesh and blood ( like a rubber heart I saw today at the store, it looked so real I think if I saw it on the table it would go to the garbage after couple minutes of loud screaming) but little bit of scary cuteness. Enjoy!

Chikens / Курицы

My husband's Nana had her birthday couple weeks ago. She's totally obsessed with chicken and roosters. They are all over her kitchen and living room. Before seeing  her house I've never thought that so many things can have a shape of this bird. Everything from decorative plates to wine bottle holders.

So her gift was two chickens that you can stick in pots with plants. I loved making them, gonna make more in the future.

Поэтому подарок для Hэны был выбран соответственный: две курицы которые можно воткнуть в горшок с цветами. Мне оочень понравилось их шить, думаю  в будущем сделаю еще.

What does a sheep say?/ Что говорит овечка?

Yee, what does it say? In English it goes Bah Bah . I remember around three years ago my husband and I had one hour long conversation about this!  And finally came to conclusion that we don't know that much about sounds farm animal make. And pets ... more confusing because in English your dog would go Ruff ruff or Woof woof and in Russian  Guff guff.

And all the difference is in our head , the language person speaks influences what he/she hears. That's it! Believe me dogs in different countries make same sounds and speak one doggy language.

But wait, no our dog always responses when I yell at him "Иди на место/Edeeh nah meystoh"  (means go to your place ) but  when my husband says it in Russian Scrappy doesn't listen just keeps standing where ever he is and staring into his eyes like" what are you saying dummy  I can't understand you! You have very thick accent!"  So after repeating couple times husband usually says in English "Go down"(Вниз) (Scrappy loves hanging out on our bed )  And it magically works!!!! Scrappy is bilingual or something...))
Oh, enough about this let's go back to sheep.

Sleeping angel/ Спящий ангел

Now that I have a camera  I can take a picture of my first baby, first doll. Yes, It was love from the first sight . I was looking for something online and saw them! Saw dolls, now I dont remember what they looked like just remember the feeling. Warm and so cute, that you want hold them tight in your arms and smile) smile  a lot. After seeing textile dolls I couldn't think about anything else, my mind was occupied with questions and ideas ... how .. from what .. one thing I knew I HAVE TO to make it now!  So I gathered some fabric, threads, paper, pencils and started drawing the pattern. I made couple changes in pattern of tilda sleeping angel and that's how my sleeping dude was born!

Gift/ Подарок :)

Around two weeks ago I had my 23d birthday)  Girl's getting older! In early morning my hubby and Scrappy(puppy) woke me up with flowers, gifts and kisses! Oh, I love waking up like that! It's been a tradition in my family to say Happy Birthday as early as someone gets up! For example if my sister had b-day , and mom would wake up first she would wake up averybody else and we all with presents and flowers would go to my lil sister room and say Happy Birthday!
It was such a nice thing for my husband to do ! )

1st of September

Today is 1st of September! and what am I so exited about?

1st of all it's the first day of fall. It's been so hot here, sometimes above 100F!(37.7 degrees Celsius) I bet a lot of people in south Florida need a little cool down, a break from muggy and sticky) Don't think that I don't love summer! I DO! Just right now with my belly looking like a huge tiny watermelon I NEED some arctic air! Ha ha I get it every night with AC turned down to 67F (19 Celsius) and my husband and dog cuddling under blankets trying to warm each other. And fall means cooler weather, open windows in the morning, birds singing outside and smell, smell of fall. Do you remember what it smells like?

2nd in Ukraine it means first day of scool year.

My very first post/Tilda doll

Hello! My name is Kat and today is the birthday of my blog)

Want to show one of my first Tilda dolls . This one was made for my mom and traveled a long long way to Ukraine.Jet lag was pretty bad, think about it ! it takes around 24 hours to get there from Orlando, Florida where the doll was born. So now she is enjoying company of my family and even if I wasn't trying to make a portrait doll she looks like my mommy.
